Evaluation

Our film follwed the rules and conventions of the film the Blair witch project. A key convention used in our film was the use of camera shots. This created a mood in particular scenes, for example there was a scene were the camera was placed behind the bush to create tension and makes it seem as if the characters were being watched. Many close up shots were used to show characters emotions .

An institution that I feel will distribute my film is the Haxan films production company . I would distribute my film here as they distributed the independent horror 'The blair witch project' and it is similar to mine.

The audience for our film would be aimed at teenagers between the ages of 13-18 this is because the characters in the film are teenagers and they would be able to relate to them more. The film attracts our target audience by the the way it was made realistic by making it a normal college day and a normal walk home.

While filming there were a few things that did not go well. First of all, my group had to change one of the actors that we were going to use in our film as he was not available when we needed him. This was a problem as we had to then start our film again due to the fact we were using a different actor. We found this very time consuming.

Another problem that came about is that when filming I did not contribute as much as the other members of my group as I could not act as good as other members of my group so I was not in the film, and I was not perfect behind the camera, but this helped me develop my skills in filming as members of my group helped me to understand more about filming.

Another problem we had is that we did not follow our entire script as some of our characters found it hard to learn their lines.

Although we had some problems, things also worked well such as the variety of camera shots we used in our film and the outcome of our whole film.Doing our pleniminary task was very beneficial as it helped me to understand how to film and how to edit. The task was a very helpful in helping me understand what making and editing a film would be like.

If I could change things if possible I would change the fact that we filmed a horror film in daylight, this had a big effect on our film as it makes it less realistic but also unique as most horrors are during the dark.

I would also change the fact that we did not use alot of props such as fake blood or costumes, I think this would have made our film more scary. Lastly I would have like to change the amount of time we used on planning I believe that if we spent more time on planning we would have had a better film.

I beleive that our production went well despite all the problems we came across. I think we produce a good piece of coursework as it was enjoyable and also helped me gain more knowlede about media.

In conlcusion our audience feedback was positive. We were complimented on our use of camera shots, and our story-line as it was not common. We were told our film was really good. Although it was a horror people found it funny due to the characters screaming.
